Five Dead After Test Train Derails In France
Five people have died after a high-speed train derailed and plunged into a canal in France.
The Paris-Strasbourg service was undergoing a trial when it crashed in Eckwersheim near the German border, local police and the national railway company said.
Images showed parts of the train submerged in water and others strewn across a field.
Police divers and medial units are at the scene while helicopters have been airlifting the wounded.
The new line is set to open in April 2016.
